Australian Embassy staff explore Kaysone Phomvihan museum

Australian Ambassador John Williams and Embassy staff enjoyed exploring the photographic exhibition at Kaysone Phomvihan Museum.

Australian Ambassador to the Lao PDR, John Williams, and Australian Embassy staff visited the Kaysone Phomvihan Museum on 27 March to view the photographic exhibition set up as part of the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, and the 40th anniversary of the Lao PDR.

Ambassador Williams said Australian Embassy staff had enjoyed the opportunity to learn more about contemporary Lao history, and the contribution of Lao leaders over several decades to foster a real sense of unity and national identity.

“For the Lao PDR, the last 40 years has been a remarkable story of nation building and overcoming adversity,” Williams said. “This quality exhibition brings to life the personal history of the men and women who dedicated themselves to an important nation building project. It’s a project Australia is proud to continue to support today, through our cooperation to advance the Lao Government’s economic development priorities.”

“I would highly recommend a visit to the exhibition as a quality insight into contemporary Laos.”
