Australian Jazz Band to Entertain Vientiane
Australian jazz band ‘The Emma Pask Quintet’ will perform live, for one night only on 29 January at Kong View Restaurant and Bar.
The Australian Embassy is sponsoring the visit to Vientiane by ‘The Emma Pask Quintet’ to showcase Australian musical talent to a Lao audience. The band will also perform at the Australian Embassy’s national day reception.
The band is led by singer Emma Pask. Emma Pask’s warm voice and her original performances are reminiscient of the classic jazz era when swing topped the charts. Leading jazz musician James Morrison has described Emma as “The greatest gift to Australian jazz vocals in the last decade”. Emma will be accompanied by fellow musicians, James Muller, Phillip Stack, Blaine Whittaker and Andrew Dickson.
Emma has performed to audiences up to 80,000 and sung with Don Burrows, the New Zealand Philharmonic, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Barbara Morrison, recorded with the BBC Big Band and Concert Orchestra in London. Following the visit to Laos, the band will perform in Singapore and New York.
